When there is a WhatsApp outage or when WhatsApp modifies its privacy regulations, Telegram’s popularity goes through the roof.

Fortunately, social life exists outside of Facebook’s mesh. Pavel Durov, Telegram’s founder, said in December 2020 that the app had around 500 million active users. While that number has climbed since then, it still falls short of WhatsApp and Facebook’s stated one-point-something billion users.  Also, you can see Best Curved Monitor in 2022: For Working and Gaming

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to simply plug in a phone number and begin texting. Before you can message anybody, you’ll need to give Telegram permission to view your contacts. People who aren’t in your contacts, on the other hand, can still invite you to Telegram conversations.

7. Add two-step verification

You may also demand an alphanumeric password every time you log in on a new device in Telegram.

Select Settings > Privacy & Security > Two-Step Verification from the “hamburger” menu in the top left corner. Then, in the same Privacy & Security area, enable Two-Step Verification.

You should write down the password because if you forget it, Telegram will only allow you to use it on one device.

You can install and use Telegram on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, or a desktop web browser now that you’ve set it up on your phone.

To get the SMS verification code, all you need is your phone number and the phone to which that number is linked.

8. Find a friend with Telegram

If you provide Telegram access to your contact list, it will search your contacts for Telegram users. Telegram will display a list of your friends who use Telegram, followed by contacts who have not yet signed up for the app when you hit the Contacts tab in the bottom left corner of the screen. By pressing on a friend’s name who isn’t using Telegram, you may ask them to join a conversation.

9. Begin a regular chat

10. Change the background of your chat (Optional)

You may pick a picture for your chat backgrounds under the Settings tab at the bottom right of the app. Telegram has a wide picture library from which to pick, allowing you to personalize the appearance and feel of your chats. For a more personalized touch, you may choose an image from your photo gallery to use as a backdrop.
