Don’t worry if you’re having trouble installing Windows 11 using Windows 10’s update tool. A built-in troubleshooter in Windows 10 can assist you in identifying any issues. This can also assist jumpstart the installation by resetting the Windows Update app.

To do so, launch the Settings window by clicking the Start menu and then the cog symbol on the left. Update & Security, then ‘Troubleshoot’ are the options. Click ‘Windows Update,’ then ‘Run the troubleshooter,’ then ‘Apply this fix if the troubleshooter finds a solution,’ and then click ‘Apply this repair if the troubleshooter finds a solution.’

Check the Windows 11 Requirements

To install Windows 11 or guarantee that it functions properly, make sure your computer meets the following Windows 11 basic system requirements.:

  • Processor: 1 GHz or faster with at least two cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or SoC
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Storage: 64GB
  • System Firmware: UEFI, Secure Boot capable
  • TPM: Trusted Platform Module 2.0
  • Graphics Card: DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.0 driver
  • Display: 720p, 8-bit per color channel, at least 9-inch diagonal
  • Internet Connection and Microsoft Account: To complete the initial, first-use setup of Windows 11 Home, or to move a device out of Windows 11 Home in S-mode, you’ll need an active internet connection and a Microsoft Account.

These are the minimal requirements for operating Windows 11, although we recommend installing it on a higher-capable device for the best experience. We wouldn’t recommend using Windows 11 on anything with less than 8GB of RAM because the 4GB RAM requirement is so low.

Windows 11 Compatibility Check

If your machine passes the aforementioned requirements, you must conduct a health check to ensure that it is suitable to install Windows 11.

  • You must first download and install Microsoft’s PC Health Check app in order to perform the health check.
  • Once installed, run the program
  • Click on the blue-colored “Check Now” button on the Windows 11 banner
  • If your system is compatible, you’ll get a pop-up stating “This PC will run Windows 11″

Microsoft Windows 11 won’t run due to TPM

If your PC isn’t supported by Microsoft’s Windows 11 upgrade checker but fulfills all of the other requirements, you’ll need to check your BIOS to activate TPM.

TPM support is built into almost every current CPU. If you have an Intel CPU, you must switch to TPM, and if you have an AMD CPU, you must check PSP fTPM in the BIOS. After that, you may check the status using Microsoft’s health checker app. Windows 11 should now be able to be installed.

You may verify if your PC has TPM support by doing the following:

  • Press Windows key + R
  • To open the Trusted Platform Module Management window, enter tpm.msc in the box that appears.
  • To find out what TPM version your device has, look for a sub-window titled TPM Manufacturer Information and look under Specification Version.

How to upgrade to Windows 11 without TPM 2.0

If you can’t install Windows 11 because your PC doesn’t have TPM 2.0, you’ll get an error notice saying your PC doesn’t fulfill Windows 11 system requirements when you try to install it.

If this happens and you still want to install Windows 11, there is a workaround, but it should only be attempted by persons who are OK with the risks involved.

Free Up Disk Space

Windows 11 requires a set amount of hard disc space to download and install, much like prior operating systems. If your main hard drive is nearly full, you’ll have trouble installing Windows 11.

Windows 11 need a 64GB hard drive.

If your Windows 11 installation fails, the first thing you should do is check your disc space in Windows Explorer. If it’s running out of space, type “Drive Clean-up” into the taskbar’s search box and choose the system disc.

Select the tick boxes of the files you wish to remove, then click ‘OK.’ These should be safe to remove, but keep in mind that once they’re gone, you won’t be able to get them back. You’ll be informed of the amount of space you’ll save. To delete the files, click ‘OK’ then ‘Delete files.’ Click ‘Clean up system files’ if you need to free up some space.

After that, try downloading and installing Windows 11 once more.

Disable anti-virus software

Antivirus software is obviously beneficial, but it may occasionally cause issues while installing Windows 11.

If you have antivirus software installed, consider deactivating it before installing Windows 11 to see if it solves the problem. After the installation is complete, you should activate it and use it normally.

It’s possible that you’ll have to remove the software for a while. Simply reinstall it when the update has been installed properly.
