The machine is built on a sturdy H frame. Internally, each metal column houses all of the electronics and moving components, giving the machine a very smart appearance as it takes shape. 

The SnapMaker’s design and construction shine out while it’s being built; it’s a cut above anything else I’ve seen, at least in terms of 3D printers. Everything is made of machined metal, and the finish and anodizing are top-notch.

Everything is fastened on a robust metal base. With the tool head on the cross beam, the H frame is massive and sturdy, and it creates a platform beneath it.

The 3D printer tool heads are unbolted, a platform is built and then the tool head and plate that you intend to use next are installed. 

When the machine is turned on, any changes to the head or platform are immediately detected by the control box. After connecting the tool head, the touch screen interface and SnapMaker Luban software switch over as well, allowing for calibration and usage. The transition from one tool head to the other takes a few minutes, as does the tool and build platform change, and then there’s the calibration procedure, but it’s all very simple, though a little time-consuming for the laser and CNC.

Laser Cutter Feature: Despite its small size, the laser cutter has a 1600mW 450nm laser Diode that is classified as Class 4 safe. It has adequate power to cut or etch wood, leather, plastic, cloth, and non-transparent acrylic with ease.

SVG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, and DXF files are all supported by the SnapMaker Luban software.

The tool head of the laser cutter has a camera that allows you to check the material’s size versus the design before cutting. 

3D Feature: With a build area of 320 x 350 x 330mm, the SnapMaker is comparable to larger, more costly 3D printers.

With a layer resolution of 50-300 microns, it’s decent, but not outstanding. However, it can achieve temperatures of up to 275oC, which allows for great material choice flexibility.

0.4mm nozzle is a fantastic choice for all common materials including PLA, ABS, TPU, Wooded PLA, and more.

There is a lot of versatility with the Luban program because it accepts STL and OBJ model formats.

CNC Feature: Another option for a final tool head would be the CNC, which is comparable to a drilling head that accepts CNC drill bits.
