Larson Davis, a division of PCB Piezotronics, Inc., introduces the addition of Model 2221 power supply to its growing line of acoustic accessories. Model 2221 is a single-channel power supply designed for use with traditional, externally polarized condenser microphones. The 2221 can supply 0 v or a 200 v polarization voltage. User selectable features include a flat (Z), A, or C-weighting filters and a 0, 20, or 40 db gain switch. It has enhanced battery life, which can last to 40 hours on a set of AA batteries. Using e-Lithium batteries can approximately double battery life. The unit can also be run with on-line power via a supplied adaptor. The product is a good compliment to data recorders, data loggers, and frequency analyzers.
Larson Davis carries a full compliment of the prepolarized condenser microphone and preamplifiers. Powered by a 2-20 ma signal conditioner and standard coaxial cables, they are extremely popular because they save in power supplies and cabling and are easy to use. The prepolarized designs can be used with the same constant current source required for ICP accelerometers. The user can minimize set-up time by using the microphones along side the accelerometers at the same time. Larson Davis also offers the traditional externally polarized microphones that run off a 200 v power supply.
