HP Omen 15 Gaming Laptop

Verdict

For us, about $1530 is a fantastic deal that is attractive to price-conscious players: a Ryzen 7 4800H, a GeForce RTX 2060, a GBS SSD 512, and a GB RAM 16. In the native resolution of 1,920 X 1,080 very high details are never an issue. Buyers are also affected by peak battery life, which even batteries in most other laptop classes.

HP now has to dress extra warmly if it improves wireless module performance, the stability of the casing, and the repeatedly criticized image quality.

Pros:

  • Powerful configurations
  • Best MacBook to date
  • Big and beautiful screen

Cons:

  • Expensive

With an all-new minimalistic appearance, HP’s Omen 15 gaming laptop is back. This version also introduces AMD Ryzen CPUs, with our review machine coupled with a huge Ryzen 7 4800H, with a 6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, to achieve smooth 1080p game frame rates. This HP has what we expect from a mid-size gamer. Some people have a screen with 144Hz, a first-rate keyboard, and battery life in our tests for over 10 hours. While $1,29 9, its commands are a very expensive feature for a GeForce GTX1660 Ti-based laptop, the Acer Predator Helios300, a GeForce RTX 2060, is much lower than any eight-core Intel-based gaming device and provides gamers that want smooth power to stream live, create content, or do everything at once with a great option without ripping out any of it. She gets her own publishers’ award for her uncommon blend of stylish CPU, stylish design, and endurance battery amongst mid-priced gaming machinery.  Also, you can see the best gaming pc keyboards to buy

Design:

HP Omen 15 is a lovely, silky black stone plate that shows the smooth grey Omen under the Omen holographic logo. This recalls the 2001 Arthur C C Clarke monolith: a space odyssey. The notebook boasts strong all-metal hinges. There is, however, a very remarkable amount of rear bending, which might cause some concern.

When you open the lid your eyes encounter the back-lit Omen Light Studio software RGB keyboard that you may tune to. The keys in Chiclet design seem they’re standing behind the touchpad and sitting up from the deck.

If the ultra-bright 15.6-inch UHD display comes in touch with your eyes, it will be difficult to look away. In an almost bezel-less display, the panel provides an immersive viewing experience.

HP Omen 15 is the biggest laptop in our rival group with a weight of 14.1 x 9.4 x 0.9 inches and a weight of 5.4 pounds. A 14.2 x 10.8 x 1 inch Asus ROG Strix Scar is the lightest competitor, at 4.4 pounds, and the Alienware m15 R3 (14.2 x 10.9 x 0.8 inches, 4.8 pounds). The Asus ROG Strix G15 will complete us (14.2 x 10.8 x 1 inch, 5.3 pounds).

Display:

The 15.6″ 4K HP Omen 15 shown is incredibly bright with vibrant and well-saturated colors. The display is bright and colorful. With its 4K panel, it offers what the Omen lacks in design. The brightness of the panel was down to 50 percent for our battery tests when I initially activated it. My eyeballs acquired a tan. I’ve set the brightness up to 100%. Also, you can see the best gaming laptops you can buy today

While playing Borderlands 3, the game was magnificently colored. When I finished my foes with the explosive shots, a red-orange path began from my weapon to my goal. And the shot was linked to a whole bouquet of oranges, reds, blacks, browns, and greyish-white smoke. I almost forgot to liberate Claptrap. It was so nice.

The combat between Iron Man and Thanos was incredibly colorful when viewing Avengers: Endgame, since Thanos’ enormous riding muscles had been recreated in all its purple splendor. Grimace’s enraged uncle truly put it in the hands of Iron Man as his gold-and-red armor began to fracture and collapse. Every scorching blast of white, yellow and orange repulsor Tony tried against the Mad Titan was caught and shown on the Omen screen. This film is intended for viewing: bright and saturated with power and perfect clearness.

During our tests, the Omen scored 170% of the DCI-P3 color range, much above the premium average of 91,7%. The Alienware came top and scored 149.7% and the two Asus ROGs followed. The Scar achieved 78% while the G15 achieved a terrible 46%.

Omen 15 also led our group to shine with a score of 384 nits easily over the average premium laptop game of 345. Alienware m15 with 369 nits, Asus ROG Strix Scar with 275 nits, and Asus ROG Strix G 15 with last dead 251 nits were the second finishers of us.

Performance:

The Omen 15 can work just as effortlessly as it plays with an Intel Core i7-10750H, a 16 GB RAM, and a 1 TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.

To check how Omen would behave, I tossed a few Video Editing. I took a 4K video and cracked Adobe Premiere open and edited around 2 minutes before rendering it in 4K. It was very easy. Without a hitch, it went away. While navigating about the Premiere, there was no freeze or stuttering and my workflow was handled without fail. The Omen 15 was running smoothly and swiftly, even though I was trying to edit it using DaVinci Resolve, which is a lot more taxing GPU.

I opened up 50 Chrome tabs and even played a few YouTube videos on Disney Plus with one running WandaVision. The gaming platform was smooth and never heated, but after approximately 10 minutes, the fans started noisily. Fortunately, there was no impact on performance.

During the synthetic testing, the Omen outperformed their competitive performance, beginning with Geekbench 5.0. Omen scored 6,416, which went further than Alienware m15 (Intel Core i7-10750H), which got 6,314, and the Asus ROG Strix G 15 with 5,210. All our players dropped below the average of 7,378 premiere gaming laptops. Also, you can see the best laptops for work and gaming

Audio:

The Omen 15 is equipped with speakers from Bang & Olufsen on the keyboard. With a little depth and thud, they blast out crisp sounds. And, if coupled, you get even greater performance with Omen Audio control software.

The software Omen Audio Control allows the user to adjust the audio performance. You may select three preset settings using the Equalizer function or you can modify the level of the equalizer manually to suit your unique audio taste. You may also set the noise deletion level if you are connected to a laptop using either the included microphone or one of our options on your best USB microphone page.

I started listening to Eminem’s “Rap God” after I finished tweaking the EQ settings. The speakers of Omen did a wonderful piece of replication when the bassline began. Eminem’s bionic mouth blasted my ears with bombastic words, keeping clear even when the bass was increased upward. I was pleased to learn how the arrangement of the Bang and Olufsen speakers isolates the various audio parts, such as the piano keystrokes in the rear of the track.

I liked Mozart’s “Requiem in D Minor” a few minutes. The delicate strings of the violin and oboe gave way to the stronger bass strings and penetrated strongly, as the operatic voices of the choir begin with the melodious altos and sopranos. It’s a beautiful thing.

In the sounds of bloodshed, I finished off my day by a Borderlands 3 round and revealed. All weapons and explosions had a good realism, and the character’s voices were clear and accurately such that I never had to struggle to comprehend them.

The Omen features a dual microscope that works well during zoom and Google Meet conversations. The noise cancellation function of Omen Audio Controls helps to silence my keyboard background noise.

Keyboard and Touchpad:

On HP Omen 15 the black Chiclet keys have RGB backlight and through the Omen Game Hub program, you may alter the lighting system. Each key provides a smooth bounce with the keyboard. But with the keys placed left of the center, I found the keys a bit tiny which had taken a while to acclimatize.

I did the test of 10 Fast Fingers when I realized that the keyboard was off-center and tried my best to not fetch two keys at once. With 78 percent accuracy, I have scored 67 words per minute, which isn’t my best but should.

When accessing web pages or documents, the 4.6 by 2.7-inch touchpad is reactive and accurate. All Windows 10 motions like 2-finger swipes and 3-finger taps were executed well. When utilizing right or left clicks, the lower corners provide a very strong and clicky feel.

Graphics, Gaming, and VR:

The HP Omen 15 comes with an 8 GB VRAM 8GB Super Max-Q GPU from Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070. Our device produced 64 frames per second, crossed over the 54-fps Premium Laptop Average of the Omen game chops with Borderlands 3 at 1080p. With 56 fps followed by the G-15, the Alienware m15 was second with a peak of 32 fps in the peloton. On the Grand Theft Car V Benchmark at 85fps, the Omen improved much better, which averaged 74fps. Once more, the Alienware m15, 79 fps, and the Strix Scar, 64 fps, was second. The Strix G15 at 44 fps brought up the rear.

In our Far Cree New Dawn test, the Omen achieved 94 FPS in the range of 1920 x 1080, which overcame the usual 84 fps. The Alienware m 15 with 80 fps, the Asus Rog Strix Scar with 73, and the Asus Rog Strix G15 were our group’s endpoints with a deceptive 57 fps.

Our Metro: Exodus benchmark (1920 x 1080, DirectX Ultra) again led the band to the 59-fps rating, which drops just below 60 fps average in size. The Asus ROG Strix Scar was second with 40 fps, then the Asus ROG Strix G15 with 30 fps finished in last place.

For our final, the Omen 15 was 58 fps over normal 54 fps but was only awarded second place for the unit, with the Alienware 15R3 having scored 59 fps above our unit. Instead of a Red Dead Redemption benchmark (1080p). The Asus ROG Strix G15, which went into at 30 fps, closed down our group.

The HP Omen 15 was the benchmark in the VRMark Cyan virtual-reality testing, with an average rating of 7,378 in all. The second position was given by the Alienware (7,511) with the G15 Strix (5,259) dancing slowly to the beat of its drummer.

Battery Life:

At best, the longevity of the HP Omen 15 battery is poor, coming into our in-house battery test at 3 hours and 12 min (continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi at 150 nits). The 4:44 premium laptop average dropped nearly two hours shy. The Asus ROG Strix G15 was our group leader, while the Strix Scar III was close to 5:09, lasting 5 hours and 11 minutes. Alienware m15 R3, 4 hours and 55 minutes, rounded up our group.

Gaming laptops are powerful animals, so if you contemplate using this as a workplace, it is essential to keep that in mind.
