Compared to a typical LCD, QLED delivers inkier black levels, colorful RGB range, high peak brightness that reaches up to 1000 nits, wide viewing angles, and a large color gamut through HDR support. All that without the danger of burn-in which is common from OLED. Also, you can see the Comparison of Samsung Odyssey G7 vs Samsung Odyssey G9 in Brief

What is the difference between the Samsung Odyssey G5 and G7?
The Odyssey G7 LC32G75T from Samsung is a significant upgrade over the Odyssey G5. In comparison to the G6, the G7 has a higher contrast ratio, refresh rate, and reaction time. A larger SDR and HDR color spectrum, as well as improved brightness, are also included. The G5, on the other hand, comes with built-in speakers and is considerably cheaper.

How big is Odyssey G9?
The Samsung Odyssey G9 is a beautiful, eye-catching display that is appealing not only because of its size and 1000R curve, but also because of its excellent, unified design. The left and right sides of the display are closer to the front of my desk than the back. To put it another way, the Odyssey G9 is too large for my workstation.

Is Samsung Odyssey G7 too curved?
Both monitors have a variety of features and distinctiveness that may influence your purchase choice; but, the Samsung G7 is likely to carve out its own niche. It's one of the few curved gaming displays with 1000R, and the Odyssey series is an excellent choice if you're searching for one.

Samsung G9 VA or IPS?
This is a 49-inch 5120 x 1440 VA monitor with a 32:9 aspect ratio, which is the same as two 27-inch 2560 x 1440 screens side by side. The display is massive, reaching over 1 metre wide, so make sure you have plenty of room on your desk for it.

Samsung Odyssey G9
The resolution is perfect and the curve and refresh rate are better than the other super ultra wides out there. Turn the brightness down to 25 as the default 100 is very bright! Setup g sync with freesync 2 enabled, games look buttery smooth. 120 Hz is so much smoother with gaming and productivity apps.

Samsung Odyssey G9
I think the most outstanding feature for G9 is the 240hz and 1000R. I brought this for office use and light gaming.

HDR is pretty good, I guess at certain dark spots the backlight will become obvious due to the limited light zones.

Overall I am extremely impressed. If you get a hand on this baby, it’ll make you smile every time you sit in front of it.

Samsung Odyssey G7
Backlight bleed is minimal. Black uniformity is good. White uniformity is not as good as my CHG70, grayish towards the edge of the monitor, not too much of a problem though. No dead pixels. I am using my own stand, because the oem stand takes a bit more space in the back, and I prefer to push the monitor further back to the wall. 240hz is dope, more important than going 4k for gaming.

Great monitor, only down side was i found out it had a 1 dead pixel, so double check the monitors before the best buy return policy expiration expires which now i can’t do.

Samsung Odyssey G9
There’s very little not to love about this screen. First the bad: If you don’t sit in front of it, the colors will fade. So off angle viewing isn’t ideal. I would have loved an even higher end display, like maybe an IPS or something. The other bad is also good. It’s 5120×1440 resolution. That’s great, for what it is. What I would LOVE to have though, is more vertical. 5120×1600 or 5120×2160 would be super sweet. I’d gladly pay more for a monitor that is 4″ taller and has 2160 vertical pixels, while maintaining the 49″ width and curve.

I purchased this monitor but sadly I had to return it. I have an RTX 3080 video card with the latest drivers as of this review. I also updated the firmware on the monitor to the latest version from Samsung.

The issue I ran into was a slight “pulse” about every ten seconds when gaming. You could notice it in dark scenes. I tried various settings and could not eliminate it. I have a Predator X27 running at 165hz and this problem does not occur on it.

Most people would not notice the pulse but once you do it becomes very annoying. I was disappointed as the monitor seems very well constructed and you can tell Samsung really made an effort to make this a great monitor. Another small issue for me was the light bleed coming from the bottom that is noticeable in dark scenes. The light bleed is not a deal breaker however as it is not noticeable most of the time unlike the pulsing.

Samsung Odyssey G7
If you’re buying this product because it’s a Samsung and normal Samsung has stunning popping color this is not your monitor. I’ve had Samsung TVs and monitors for years and thought I would get the same great picture. I didn’t do my research and after I learned this monitor has a VA panel not a isp panel like most older monitors and Samsung TVs. These panels are much cheaper and that’s the reason this monitor is so cheap. The monitor itself is good quality and reaction speed is amazing. However the washed out colors and just general crappy picture made me return the monitor.

Samsung Odyssey G9
Very disappointed about this product for several reasons:

* Nvidia G-Sync Compatible with NO drivers available at launch for the product, and still a month into the launch on the Nvidia site still says it’ll be compatible on the “Upcoming Driver”

* Adaptive Sync Still Causes Several issues with flickering screen

* Backlight Bleeding is very present leaking out of the edge of the monitor, the monitor is not adhering properly to the frame of the display. Monitor was manufactured in June 2020
