Verdict

The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is an excellent choice for a family printer. It has an excellent cost-per-print ratio for both black and color ink, making it an inexpensive alternative for most families. It also contains a flatbed scanner that’s great for scanning sensitive goods, and you can use the external storage port to print images directly from your camera’s SD card. Unfortunately, the photo printing quality is only adequate, and the color accuracy is poor, although both should be enough for casual use.

Pros

  • The cost-per-print is quite low
  • Extremely high page yields
  • A wide variety of connecting options are available
  • It is possible to print directly from an SD card

Cons

  • The printing speed is really slow
  • Color accuracy is poor
  • The photo printing quality is only adequate

The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is a small supertank printer that produces a large number of pages for both black-and-white and color documents at a low cost-per-print. It utilizes four refillable tanks that carry a lot of ink instead of throwaway cartridges, so you won’t have to buy new ink bottles as often. Unfortunately, while it features a flatbed scanner, it misses a sheetfed scanner and thus cannot handle double-sided documents automatically. Furthermore, because of its poor color accuracy, it is not recommended for any applications that need precise color reproduction. Also, you can see the best sublimation printers

Mostly all printers are very heavy equipment, but the Epson EcoTank ET-2750 is really quite light at 5.5kg. Despite the presence of a large ink tank in the bottom-right corner, it’s easy to move around. It’s also quite small, measuring 187 x 375 x 347mm. It isn’t as compact as the Canon Pixma TS305, but it is more compact and lighter than the Canon Pixma TS7450.

The paper in-tray is hidden beneath a thin plastic cover at the back of the printer. A grey plastic prop stretches up and leans back behind this. This doesn’t appear to be broad enough to accommodate A4 paper and, to be honest, it didn’t inspire confidence at first. Paper, on the other hand, maybe readily directed into the ET-2750 owing to adjustable blue clips. During the tests, there were no paper jams.

The scanner is placed in front of the in-tray. The scanner’s lid is thin plastic, just as the XP-7100’s, and it doesn’t have a slow-close function, so keep an eye on your fingers.

Epson has taken an effort to make the refilling process as spill-free as feasible. The ET-2750’s Epson 102 bottles are equipped with specially designed nozzles that fit into the tank-like Lego pieces. It’s nearly hard to create a mess here: simply pop the top of each tank chamber, unscrew the cap of each bottle, and slot it in, then wait for each tank to fill.

The ET-2750’s control panel is on the left, and it swings out as it does on many Epson printers. The motion is firm, and the panel has a reassuringly substantial feel to it. Then there’s the out-tray, which has a lovely movement despite being rather shaky.

Depending on your internet connection, setting up the printer might take anywhere from 10-15 minutes. Because the control panel lacks a touchscreen, entering your home network’s password might take a long time, especially if you’ve chosen a strong password.

Windows users will need to download and install drivers after they’ve connected. The Epson ET-2750 is Apple AirPrint compatible, so Mac users can relax and feel good about themselves – no drivers are required; simply go to System Preferences, Printers & Scanners, and add the Epson ET-2750 to the list of your trusted devices.

The Epson iPrint app (iOS, Android) is uninspiring on the surface, but it’s effective and simple to use.

These applications allow you to print files straight from cloud storage services such as Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Evernote, Box, and DropBox, in addition to data saved locally on your phone.

You may use the app to monitor ink levels and do simple maintenance activities like nozzle cleaning and printhead cleaning, as well as check for firmware upgrades, as you can with many other mobile applications.

Print Quality and Speed of Espon EcoTank Et-2760

The Epson EcoTank ET-2750 is one of the fastest printers on the market, printing text documents in a couple of seconds. Single pages of text take around 4-5 seconds to generate, and our five-page test document takes about half a minute to print (28.41 seconds, or 10.55 pages per minute). The ET-2750 took 2mins 44secs to produce the large 20-page test document (7.31ppm).

A five-page file with bar graphs and pie charts took 1min 12secs, whereas a single page of colored graphics took 17.33 seconds. The 20-page test file took 6 mins and 14 secs to complete.

Color images produced on standard A4 paper took slightly over a minute (1 minute 13 seconds), while high-quality prints on 10 x 15mm (4 x 6 inch) paper took nearly the same amount of time (1min 21secs on average). Color photos took 4 mins and 53 secs to print on glossy A4 paper.

Overall, the print quality is excellent, with clear and rich letters and minimum bleed. Pages are moist when they arrive, can bow in the middle, and are consequently prone to smearing – therefore treat with caution.

Photos printed on plain paper had a tendency to seem subdued, but they were generally excellent. Of course, if you really want to make a statement with your photos, print them on glossy photo paper instead.

The Epson ET-2750 scans quickly, taking around 10 seconds to read text files and 25 seconds to scan color pictures. While there is no automated document feeder (ADF), you may copy directly from the scanning glass; scanning and printing a text document takes around 1 min 15 sec, while scanning and printing a color image takes about 2 min 18 secs.

In terms of how much of a dent each printout will make in your wallet, the good news is that you won’t notice. While most inkjet printers have a cost-per-page of around 9-10p per page, consider how much mileage you get out of the Epson 102 bottles:

You couldn’t even spend it because the cost per page is so cheap. This will undoubtedly please high-volume customers, as the economics of bottled ink is difficult to argue with.

Serious petrolheads who will be printing hundreds of pages every month might wish to spend £59.99 on an EcoTank Unlimited Printing pass, which includes two years’ worth of ink delivered to your door.

Connectivity and Mobile App

The ET-2760’s connection isn’t as strong as those of its higher-end brothers. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, a single USB 2.0 PC connection, and Wi-Fi Direct are all included. The latter is a peer-to-peer protocol that connects mobile devices to the printer without requiring either them or the printer to be linked to a LAN or router.

Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Fire OS Support, and Mopria Print Service, as well as Epson iPrint for iOS and Android, provide mobile connection. iPrint is a mobile program that allows you to print directly from your phone or tablet. You can also print from several types of SD cards using a port on the left side of the chassis, which is shown in red above.

Summary

If you intend on doing a lot of printing, the Epson EcoTank ET-2750 is a terrific, fast printer choice. It has a large initial investment, but the ink bottles are so inexpensive that you’ll save a lot of money in the long term.
