Clean edges, a single foot, and a solid housing highlight the displays. In Apple’s design studio, we frequently see this kind of design choice. The fact that the Studio Display looks exactly like this isn’t altogether irrational. The Smart Monitor M8 from Samsung, on the other hand, stands out a little more. It appears that the South Korean tech giant has taken a page from Apple’s perfect design. Is it possible to blame them?

The color palette makes a significant effect on the design. Samsung’s monitor comes in four different colors, but Apple’s Studio Display only comes in silver. If you want Samsung’s cool hues, you’ll have to pay nearly 100 euros more. The Samsung display’s base is included and can move up and down as well as tilt. If you want an extra foot that adjusts the orientation, you must pay an extra fee at Apple. The Studio Display is notable for the fact that the power source can only be removed using specific equipment.

The Other Tech Features and Specifications of both monitors

The comparison of the specs of both screens is, of course, the most crucial. Both panels feature a 60Hz refresh rate and are capable of displaying over a billion distinct colors. That was the extent of the resemblances. Here are some of the numerous distinctions.

The Smart Monitor M8 is somewhat bigger than the Studio Display at 32 inches, but visual quality suffers as a result. Apple’s 27-inch display has a 5K resolution, which translates to 218 pixels per inch. Although Samsung’s screen is bigger, the UHD 4K resolution and 32-inch screen only deliver 138 PPI. That’s nearly half the price!

Furthermore, the Studio Display’s P3 color categorization guarantees that what you intend to print is appropriately presented on the screen. This is perfect for those of us who are designers. Samsung’s 99 percent SRGB categorization provides adequate color representation, although it is not one-to-one. The Apple display is also substantially brighter than the Smart Monitor M8, with 600 nits compared to 400 nits on the Smart Monitor M8. As a result, Apple’s display is tailor-made for professional designers, illustrators, and photographers.

Both monitors can manage reflections from your room’s windows and lighting. An anti-reflective coating costs around 300 euros extra at Apple. In many cases, though, this isn’t essential. One component of Samsung’s display stands out: the viewing angle. Apple’s Studio Display can only be seen properly from a 122-degree angle, but Samsung’s display can be seen from a 178-degree angle.
