The Distributed-power Open Standards Alliance (DOSA) has responded to industry demands for high-density POL modules. It recently announced a 2nd generation standard footprint and pin out design for 12 and 20 A non-isolated point-of-load (POL) dc-dc converters. The new standard establishes the location of pins, recommended pad layout on boards, input and output voltage ranges, and critical features, as well as parameters required for interoperability and second sourcing.
