Scoping out test signals
Instrument makers have taken a few pages from the playbook of tablet makers as can be seen from features on the Tektronix 5 Series mixed signal oscilloscope on display at the show. It includes a pinch-swipe-zoom touchscreen user interface, a high-definition display said to be the biggest available on any scope, and 4, 6, or 8 FlexChannel inputs that let you measure one analog or eight digital signals. The scopes have up to a 2 GHz bandwidth and a record length of up to 125 Mpoints. There’s also serial decode/trigger support available for widely used buses like I2C, SPI, USB 2, Ethernet, CAN, LIN, and numerous others.
