How ADAS computers will get their Lidar data
Autonomous vehicles will use gargantuan amounts of raw real-time data coming from sophisticated Lidar and radar systems. Getting the data from the Lidar and radar to the ADAS computer may involve optical connections like these from Samtec. Seen here are optical engines that are part of a Firefly optical connection system. The connections will handle up to 28 Gbps x4 or 112 Gbps aggregate. An extended temperature version works over -40 to 85°C.
