Molex Incorporated introduces its Balanced Armature Audio Receivers, ideal for the rapidly growing hearing-aid market. Measuring 80mm3, the receivers provide up to 20 percent space savings versus similar competitive products and up to 75 percent versus dynamic receivers. The technology also offers substantially more sound output per unit size and cleaner mid-range sound compared to dynamic-style receivers. Molex will showcase the receivers, along with a range of healthcare solutions, at MD&M Minneapolis, October 29 30, booth 1518.
Many people who need a hearing aid dont pursue getting one because they think it will be a big, uncomfortable device, said Anthony Kalaijakis, strategic medical market manager, Molex. By combining our precision manufacturing capabilities and audio business expertise, we provide audio OEMs with the ability to cost effectively design products half the size of traditional hearing aids yet with superior sound output and quality.
Balanced armature receivers from Molex are customizable, allowing OEMs to adjust the impedance or other specifications to meet specific requirements. Besides applications in hearing aids, Balanced Armatures can be used for Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management devices where they can also more efficiently transform energy into sound, helping to save or extend battery life. In addition to hearing aids, the technology is ideal for the premium in-ear earphone market where manufacturers are looking to design higher-performing, smaller and more attractively-designed earphones.
