Bourns, Inc. released its Model SRP-F Series shielded power inductors. The nine models in the series feature low DCR with flat wire construction in a small, low-profile (0.7 to 1.0 mm) form factor. The flat wire construction improves the efficiency of these new power inductors by significantly reducing DCR compared to other similarly sized power inductor devices that use conventional wire.

The models in the SRP-F Series are designed with a metal alloy powder core, flat wire technology, and advanced molding technology to achieve a higher saturation current and heating current level with low radiation in a small form factor. The series delivers a low buzz noise solution with an inductance range of 0.3 – 10 µH and an operating temperature range of –40 to +125 °C. These features are required in a growing variety of space-constrained applications that require high current, but must also meet lower power consumption goals, such as in consumer, industrial, and telecom application DC-DC converters and power supplies.

The Bourns Model SRP-F Shielded Power Inductor Series is available now and is RoHS* compliant and halogen free**.

Danfoss Power Solutions announced the launch of its Editron EM-PMI540B electric motor. Based on synchronous reluctance-assisted permanent magnet technology, the EM-PMI540B functions as both a motor and a generator. Designed for electric or hybrid drivetrains in demanding applications, such as off-highway machinery and marine vessels, it offers high efficiency, non-stop continuous power, and a high operational altitude.

The Danfoss Editron EM-PMI540B electric motor builds on the high efficiency of the EM-PMI540A, offering approximately 96% efficiency throughout its operating range. The motor’s efficiency surpasses that of conventional products on the market, such as induction motors. The EM-PMI540B is also smaller and lighter in weight than conventional products, enabling easier machine integration. It features a compact and robust housing with an ingress protection rating of IP67.

Unlike other electric motors on the market, the Editron EM-PMI540B motor’s continuous power rating is not time bound. It can operate at full power, non-stop, for as long as the duty cycle requires. This constant availability increases machine.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. introduced two new IGBT and MOSFET drivers in the compact, high isolation stretched SO-6 package. Delivering high peak output currents of 3 A and 4 A, respectively, the Vishay Semiconductors VOFD341A and VOFD343A offer high operating temperatures to +125 °C and low propagation delay of 200 ns maximum.

Consisting of an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to an integrated circuit with a power output stage, the optocouplers released today are intended for solar inverters and microinverters; AC and brushless DC industrial motor control inverters; and inverter stages for AC/DC conversion in UPS. The devices are ideally suited for directly driving IGBTs with ratings up to 1200 V / 100 A.

The high operating temperature of the VOFD341A and VOFD343A provides a higher temperature safety margin for more compact designs, while their high peak output current allows for faster switching by eliminating the need for an additional driver stage. The devices’ low propagation delay minimizes switching losses while facilitating more precise PWM regulation.

The optocouplers’ high isolation package enables high working voltages up to 1.140 V, which allows for high voltage inverter stages while still maintaining enough voltage safety margin. The RoHS-compliant devices offer high noise immunity of 50 kV/µs, which prevents fail functions in fast switching power stages.

Samples and production quantities of the VOFD341A and VOFD343A are available now, with lead times of six weeks.
